Cassidy Hutchinson
Enough is the first hand account of the behind the scenes, day to day life in the White House Chief of Staff's office under President Trump, as told by Cassidy Hutchinson, an assistant to Mark Meadows, Chief of Staff. What is compelling is the backstory to Hutchinson’s ultimate decision to go from being part of the team reflecting the lies and distortion of Trump's White House to the realization that truth is more important than ambition and power. The details of her growing up in New Jersey make her like the girl next door and it is her upbringing that underpins the character required to “do the right thing” in the face of potential harm to the constitution and our country, the basis for our democracy. Not to mention potential harm to herself and those close to her. The events of January 6th were the defining point for Hutchinson. Her insights into the inner circle at that time are breathtaking. It is also noteworthy that someone in her early 20s could demonstrate such heroism while the seasoned, most powerful associates that surrounded her could not.
Inspired by Alexander Butterfield's example, Hutchinson felt the imperative to tell the truth and uphold the constitution above all else. The story is well-written and valuable.

So many books, so little time. Right, right - we’ve all heard it many times. Hummingbird's new BOOK SHORTS will present book reviews you can read in a minute and capture the essence of the story, thumbnail reviews that hopefully will entice you into your next read. I read constantly. My tastes vary, so I’ll review books that I love, not necessarily current books. Other HB contributors will review books that follow their interests, both newly published and past. All in all, we’ll review books we think are captivating, compelling, unputdownable.
