Introducing Daisy. (What Was I Thinking?)

Introducing Daisy (fully, Daisy Mae Novick), slated to join our family at the beginning of August. Yes, REALLY!!

I have this apt expression that keeps popping into my head, and now that I think about it, an expression that has been used at the time of previous puppy acquisitions, "What was I thinking?" In this case it would be a "we" as in, "What were WE thinking," as getting a dog was not exactly prompted by me this time... that's really true.

Why, why, and why? Oh-- you guys know why you need a four-legged friend in your life. But this time, as months went by and we seemed unable to make a decision on it, I had the absolute sense of time going by, and possibly the window of opportunity closing. Maybe it's all the news lately. Maybe it was Treat Williams, killed in a second, while appreciating the sweetness of life--just minutes before, commenting on the smell of a freshly mowed lawn. How do we know when there won't be another time, another opportunity? So with full hearts, we are jumping in, hook, line and sinker—yet again, for the next chapter. Ready for the love, laughs, licks, and frustrations that lay ahead.
